LOCATIONS in Machynlleth for three new defibrillators must be agreed to ensure there is coverage across the whole town, councillors have said.
Councillors have praised fund-raisers from Machynlleth Bowling Club’s Whist Drive Association who have agreed to pay £750 toward the total cost of £1,500 for the three new defibrillators.
But Cllr Gareth Jones said the council needed to discuss locations for the new defibrillators that will provide easy access to the life-saving equipment anywhere in town.
He questioned if proposed locations at the Plas, at Spar in Heol Maengwyn, and in the town clock area were the best locations saying that there is already a defibrillator at the leisure centre, but nothing near the train station.
While clerk Rab Jones said the defibrillator at the leisure centre could not be taken out of the building, Cllr Jones questioned having two defibrillators so close to each other.
