A COVID outbreak has been confirmed in a care home in Aberaeron, with several members of staff and residents affected, the council has said.

Positive Covid-19 cases have been confirmed at Min y Mor Residential Care Home, Aberaeron. Several members of staff and residents have tested positive. All residents continue to be closely monitored.

Ceredigion County Council said it is working closely with Hywel Dda University Health Board and Public Health Wales to contain the virus within the home and to provide support to the staff and residents at the Home.

The residents’ families have all been contacted by the home and staff will provide regular updates to all families over the coming days and weeks.

A council spokesperson said: 2Looking after our care home residents is of paramount importance to Ceredigion County Council. Visits to Care Homes in Ceredigion remain suspended and residents are being supported to keep in touch with family and friends via telephone and video conferencing/skype calls.
