A HIGH-FLYING former Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor student is living out his dream jet-setting around the globe.

Billy Muir, who studied Travel and Tourism at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor’s Dolgellau Campus, is three months into his new role as cabin crew.

As part of his training, he has been flying all around the world.

Billy, who is originally from Liverpool but moved to Blaenau Ffestiniog whilst he studied, is now living in Dubai and working for Emirates Airline.

His destinations so far have included Zurich, Brisbane and Auckland, and back home to Dubai.

The air steward decided to come to college to “secure a better future for himself”.

He wanted to train to become a cabin crew member and saw the ideal course for him at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor.

Billy said: “I absolutely loved the course. It was ideal for my career; we researched a lot into the industry and other countries and cultures.

“I am very grateful to my tutor, Delyth Roberts, who never gave up on me and who always motivated me and pushed me to work hard.

“I have her to thank for everything I have achieved since coming to Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor.”

The ex-student’s goal is to work his way up from economy class cabin crew to business class and then finally become a supervisor.

He will be returning to Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor to chat to the travel and tourism students about his success and exciting experiences.
