The Soroptimists of South Caernarfonshire have raised £1116.50 at a recent Italian themed evening at Llannor Village Hall.

The money is being donated to Action for Children and will be used locally in Gwynedd by the charity. This is the second donation that the Soroptimists have made to this charity.

In December the charity gave £450 to enable Action for Children to take some Young Carers to a Pantomine.

Action for Children is currently supporting about 140 young Carers whose ages range from as young as 5 years to 18 years old in the local area.

This donation will go towarsa respite trips for the young carers (and/or) their families. This is something positive for them to look forward to as well as a real break from their caring responsibilities.

Having the opportunity to take part in activities of interest and experience new things improves their health and wellbeing and builds their resilience. Being able to socialise and have fun with other young carers means so much to the children and young people who for a great deal of time live under constant strain and worry.
