A mother from Porthmadog has spoken of her delight at being given the opportunity to tell people about the beauty pageant world.

Shannon Morris and her two children, Bentley, 4 and Everleigh, 18 months, all take part in pageants and little Everleigh, who recently won the UK heat of her pageant, has taken part in a TV documentary about the industry.

The S4C show, Tu ôl i’r Tiaras, was screened on Sunday, 20 October.

The 24-year-old mother-of-two hopes the documentary gives people a better insight into the world of pageantry.

“People don’t understand that there’s more to pageants than pretty dresses and a nice smile, but I hope this documentary will educate people and make more people want to associate and support the North Wales Pageant girls as a whole and attend their events.

“I’m very grateful that we were given this opportunity from S4C as Everleigh’s very young and probably won’t remember the opportunities and success she has had during her early years, so it’s nice to have it documented so that we can look back on it when she is older,” Shannon said.

Little Everleigh was victorious in the UK heats of the PURE international beauty pageant in January of this year.
