TUESDAY, 5 April, was the first ever open afternoon for Newcastle Emlyn U3A and it was a great success. Each of the 12 activity groups promoted themselves and there were refreshments from the French group, Luncheon Club and wine appreciation group plus teas and coffees. Quite a number of people came along, and some became members. The U3A offers a variety of activities for those who are retired or semi-retired. The activity groups meet in halls or people’s homes during the month and we hold a monthly meeting on the first Wednesday of the month in the Community Hall, Church Lane, from 10.30am to 12.15pm.
