Madam,

So the county council in Ceredigion has run out of beds for the elderly. What did they think was going to happen?

Maybe it’s a good time for some redundancies in the pen-pusher numbers now that the welfare system is closed for business.

Maybe our councillors in Aberaeron could make a gesture and donate £10,000 from the salaries. There are more than enough of them and they can always look to their expenses to make good their losses.

I am sure this would be appreciated by the welfare services but, sadly, I think it will be too much to hope for.

Yours etc,

Don Woodward,

Waunfawr, Aberystwyth.
