Madam,

I was interested to read the letter from Marie Helena Thomas regarding the EU (‘EHIC card one of many things I get for the money’, Letters, 13 June).

Perhaps she could answer this? If I took her wages/salary and each time she wanted something she asked me and I gave her the money, whose money would I be giving her? Hers or mine?

The point I make is we give the money to the EU and they decide who and what receives it. Does that make it EU money? If we gave no money and the EU gave us money, it would be their money.

Or am I missing something?
