A wildlife photographer has snapped this striking mirror image of two red kites during a day trip to the Elan Valley.

The pair of birds were seen swooping together by Josh Adamms on 31 May.

The 34-year-old was out on a day trip with his family in Rhayader and said: "There was loads of birds there – they put out meat on a daily basis for them and then they swoop down," he said.

"I just got lucky with the pictures."
