BARMOUTH residents have been urged to have their say about a new footpath to the town’s famous bridge.

Last week the Cambrian News reported that plans for a new path linking the town’s harbour and bridge had taken a big step forward when Gwynedd Council’s Active Travel Plan appeared to have provision for a new traffic-free route.

Barmouth Viaduct Access Group (BVAG) were delighted with the decision but irritated that the county council had not arranged for a public drop-in meeting to take place in Barmouth.

However, due to increased interest, the council will not put on an additional drop-in session in the seaside resort.

A spokesperson for Gwynedd Council said: “Due to the interest in active travel in Barmouth, the council has arranged an additional drop-in session in the town in order to gather the comments of residents on the Integrated Network Maps.

The event will take place on 4 August, at Parlwr Bach, Barmouth Community Centre (Dragon Theatre) at 9.30am until 4pm.
