Listed Building Consent for works to buildings at Boston Lodge Works in Penrhyndeudraeth, part of the Ffestiniog Railway Company, have been granted.

The plans will include the insulation of the existing roof of the listed Old Erecting Shop and the demolition of the unlisted Old Carriage Shed on the site which is in “poor condition” and rebuilding of a new structure in its place.

A Gwynedd council planning officer report approving the plans said that “clearly a number of adaptations and the construction of new buildings have formed part of this site since its inception, and because the site is still within the same use, it is essential to its future to change and adapt as time goes on.”
