ABERYSTWYTH residents will have to wait until three days before Christmas to see the new Bandstand after another delay in completion was announced by the council.

Ceredigion County Council has confirmed the anticipated completion date of the long-awaited Bandstand is now 22 December, despite the council announcing in June that the original predicted finishing date was being pushed back from August to the end of October.

In August, concerns were raised locally about the speed of construction, prompting the council to encourage contractors, WB Griffiths & Sons Ltd of Haverfordwest to “organise his workforce” in order to finish in time.

Cllr Mark Strong sympathised with how difficult the construction project is, but said questions should be asked of the contractors.
