WORK to upgrade playing fields in Edern has been completed thanks to a grant.

The Edern playing fields committee received a grant from the Llyn AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) to start developments of the new playing fields in the village.

The grant has assisted to get the field fenced off and made safe, a track around the boundary, picnic tables, bins and the planting of trees around the site which will be a natural site.

A lot of work has gone into phase one with many hours of volunteer work by Guto Williams and other committee members in preparing the site.

A number of fundraising events have been organised for the coming months to raise enough to complete the work on the park, including a fashion and fizz evening, treasure hunt and duck race.
