COUNCIL services in Aberystwyth should be subjected to bigger cuts, a south Ceredigion councillor has claimed.
Cllr Lyndon Lloyd, who represents Beulah, insisted that cuts to services were being targeted more at communities in south and mid Ceredigion and demanded bigger cuts to services in Aberystwyth.
He highlighted Aberystwyth’s library as one service that should be facing funding cuts with Cardigan library due to be downgraded in size when it moves premises and Llandysul library potentially facing closure.
Cllr Lloyd also complained that exhibitions by Ceredigion Museum should be arranged for locations away from the museum premises in Aberystwyth to allow communities in south Ceredigion to see the “treasures” maintained by the museum.
