THE Brownies and Rainbows from Llanidloes had a special meeting at the Bailey room in Llanidloes Community Centre on Wednesday, 21 October, when they received a talk by Trudy Davies, standard bearer for Llanidloes British Legion, and Viv Williams, Poppy Appeal organiser.

The origins of the Poppy Appeal and the meaning of the British Legion were discussed with lively responses and questions from the Brownies and Rainbows.

Viv Williams received donations from Brownies and Rainbows for the 2015 Poppy Appeal. Various activities had been organised to raise this money. The Rainbows did Chores For Cash and raised £43.82, the Brownies painted poppy stones to raise £13. These two cheques were presented on the evening and The Llanidloes British Legion used this opportunity to launch their 2015 Poppy Appeal.
