A POPULAR Dolgellau author has launched an exciting new Welsh language book for young children.
Former Ysgol y Gader pupil Bethan Gwanas visited Canolfan Gorwelion in Bala on Saturday to launch her latest book, Coeden Cadi.
With illustrations by Janet Samuel, Bethan’s latest adventure is suitable for children between five and eight years of age.
Elaborating the premise of the new book, Bethan said: “I better explain, that the Cadi in the book is quite a naughty girl.
“Our Cadi is not bad at all, but I was when I was that age!
“So the character is a bit of a mixture of me when I was Cadi’s age – well about five to six.
“Cadi likes climbing trees,” Bethan continued.
“One day, the wind blows very strongly until Cadi fails to hold her grip.
“She is shot through the air screaming... and lands in the Land of the Rainbow.
“There, she meets Dicsi’r the pixie, Caio and Queen, and several other funny small people.
“But Cadi has to learn an important lesson in the colourful magical country, above the clouds.
“Will she ever want to climb trees again?”
