WORKS to repair street lamps in an Aberystwyth park after vandals caused £1,000 of damage “will be completed soon”, the county council has said.
Three lanterns near the play area in Plascrug Avenue were damaged over the weekend of the 12 and 13 September, leaving part of the park in the dark during evenings and mornings.
A Ceredigion County Council spokesperson confirmed the vandalism had taken place, and added: “In the interim the assets have been made electrically safe with the programming of the work and the materials required to replace affected columns and lanterns progressing.
“It is planned that those works, estimated at £1,000, will be completed soon.
