A PUBLIC funeral has been planned for Penparcau road sweeper Roy Charles Evans who died following a crash in Llanbadarn.

It will take place at St Mark’s Church, Gwenlli, near Llandysul, on Saturday, 28 July, at 11am.

Family flowers only have been requested and donations will be collected for The Salvation Army, British Heart Foundation and Wales Air Ambulance, by Alun M Esau, Funeral Director, Soar, Sarnau, Llandysul.

The vehicle 55-year-old Mr Evans of Tremafon was driving crashed on Primrose Hill near the junction with Cefn Llan at lunchtime on Friday, 13 July.

He died later the same day at Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth.

An inquest into his death has been opened for identification purposes and adjourned until a date to be fixed by coroner Peter Brunton.

Last week his family said they were devastated by his death and he was described as a “brilliant father” and “loving friend” and “fantastic husband” to his wife Carol.

Ceredigion council chief executive Eifion Evans said: “Roy was well-liked, respected and popular and will be sorely missed.”

Dyfed-Powys Police said the incident did not involve any other vehicles, but have appealed for witnesses.
