GOMER Press provided a lunchtime pit stop for the Jaguar XK Club of Great Britain, part way through their Round Britain Coastal Drive raising money and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.

The XK Club of Great Britain is run by Philip Porter, who also owns a publishing company called Porter Press, producing quality books on classic cars. These books are printed and bound at Gomer Press in Llandysul.

Jonathan Lewis, managing director at Gomer, explained: “We’ve been working with Porter Press for a few years now so we are very happy that the Round Britain Coastal Drive can find time to call in at Gomer.

“It is a great tie-in and an opportunity to show people  round our factory, explain how books are actually made, and also to do our bit to support Philip and the fundraising for Prostrate Cancer UK”.

Owned by Hollywood stars such as Clark Gable and Humphrey Bogart, and raced and rallied with great success, the XK 120s put Jaguar on the map worldwide and led the drive to earn crucial dollars for Britain in the post-war period. At the time it was the fastest production car in the world and also a beautiful work of art.
