ROTARIANS in Pwllheli have handed out over £4,000 to good causes.

Pwllheli Rotary Club shared a total of £4,430 between 19 local organisations, with a mainly “young people” profile, and to celebrate the occasion a buffet was organised at Plas Heli, Pwllheli.

The money was raised by the Santa float which visited 24 towns and villages across Pen Llyn over 17 nights in the run up to Christmas.

The cheques were presented to the groups by MP Liz Saville-Roberts during the evening activities.

The groups that benefited from the Santa Float are: Cylch Meithrin Nefyn, Morfa Nefyn, Edern, Llanengan, Pentreuchaf, Chwilog, Yr Eifl Trefor, Llanbedrog and Bryncroes (a total of nine cylchs); Ysgol Cymerau, Sarn Bach and Pont Y Gof (three schools); Edern playing fields; Pwllheli FC junior teams (u16s and u12s); Welsh Institute of Therapeutic Horsemanship; Ysgol Bro Plenydd Parents Association; Pwllheli Food Bank and CEFN.
