A FUND-RAISING walk in Pwllheli has raised £200 for the Dwyfor British Heart Foundation branch.
The six-mile walk from the leisure centre in Pwllheli along the coastal path to Carreg y Defaid and back involved 21 clients of the National Exercise Referral Scheme, Calon Lân and Dwyfor Leisure Centre staff.
Cllr Craig ap Iago, the Gwynedd Council Cabinet member for Healthy Gwynedd, said: “Congratulations to everybody who took part in the walk raising £200 towards a good cause.
“It is great to see so many people of different abilities and fitness taking part. The weather was lovely and everyone enjoyed it.”
Sandra Roberts, one of the walkers who took part in the event, said: “I feel that I have achieved a lot by taking part in the walk. I have never walked that far before. The weather was great and I really enjoyed myself.”
Similar events will be held in the future with the council saying that announcements and information on further events will be available on the council’s website and Facebook page.
