Madam,
I would like to reply to Maldwyn Lewis’ letter regarding calls for £1 billion to be given to Wales. Maldwyn Lewis’ letter suggests that only Plaid Cymru MPs have always put first the interests of Wales, making Wales their sole concern.
Strange that, because we have a Plaid-run authority which has cut services to the bone - including hedge-cutting, path-clearing, staff jobs going, school bus fees shooting up, library closures, toilet closures, and now we hear that Gwynedd Council is not providing a lifeguard service at Barmouth beach after all, despite the Plaid-run authority suggesting that this would happen this summer.
Therefore, Maldwyn, if you really believe that all of these services mentioned above are available through Plaid Cymru, then perhaps it is you who is living the sentimental dream and, therefore, the £1 billion isn’t needed.
Yours etc,
O Jean Thomas, Llanfair.
