The historic Synod Inn pub which has only just reopened after a car ploughed into it in August 2017, was struck by another vehicle on Friday night.
Landlady Jill Evans and regulars were left shocked but unharmed after a car travelling along the A486 from the direction of Llandysul, failed to stop at the A487 junction and skidded across the trunk road and collided with an outbuilding of the 500-year-old inn.
The crash – the third time the pub has been hit – has led to calls for safety measures.
Although the vehicle, thought to be a Peugeot, was a write-off, its two occupants were said to have escaped shaken, but unhurt.
Now Mrs Evans is calling for better signage and speed bumps to warn motorists to reduce their speed on the approach to the junction.
“This is the sixth time a vehicle had failed to stop there and the third time the pub has been hit,” she told the Cambrian News.
“The Give Way sign is too small and not well-lit. Why can’t speed bumps be laid on the approach to the junction like there are on the other side of the trunk road? Drivers not familiar with the layout are just not being given enough time and warning to stop.”
