Madam,

I have seen that one of your correspondents has claimed that the wait for an appointment in the North Road eye clinic, Aberystwyth, is more like 10 months than 10 weeks.

Rubbish.

I am due six-monthly eye examinations due to Glaucoma. My last appointment was in June 2016. That’s a wait of 17 months and still no appointment.

That’s not a delay, that’s total failure.

The system was quite good until about two or three years ago, but suddenly went into meltdown.

I am now told a memo has been sent to the consultant, but an appointment is still only a ‘maybe.’
