HUNDREDS of cyclists who descended on a Meirionnydd village as they completed a charity bike ride were met by a Team GB sporting legend.
Over 700 riders took part in this year’s 25th anniversary Wolverhampton to Aberdyfi Charity Bike Ride held on Friday, 17 June, fundraising for a variety of different charities, including Neuadd Dyfi, The Brain Tumour Charity and Acorns Children’s Hospice.
At the race’s conclusion, riders were met by Paralympic gold medallist Ellie Simmonds who handed out goody bags to the weary cyclists.
Bob Nickless, one of the event’s organisers, said: “The number of riders keen to take part keeps growing every year and to have over 700 riders this year was fantastic– especially on our 25th anniversary.”
“We were delighted to have Ellie Simmonds here today handing out goody bags at the finish."
