A CEREDIGION drama group is celebrating success after picking up a prize for their production of Woman in Mind (December Bee).
The Attic Players won Best Drama at the recent NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) Wales and Ireland Regional Awards after being shortlisted for this highly-sought-after accolade.
Justine Dodd, who directed the production in Newcastle Emlyn, said: “I am thrilled beyond words with the success of this production - the calibre of each and every member on stage meant that this production was elevated far higher than audiences usually expect from amateur theatre.”
Justine, who had wanted to stage the play for almost 30 years, after seeing it performed professionally in her teens, went on: “We are blessed with some exceptional talent within the Attic Players - our backstage crew are dedicated and multi-talented and as for our sound, set and lighting designers. This award is for each and every one of them!”
Woman in Mind (December Bee) is written by Alan Ayckbourn, and is best described as a ‘tragi-comedy with surreal overtones’.
