Madam,

The piece in the Cambrian News headlined Chamber of Trade could help boost town was sweet music to the ears of many Pwllheli people, who feel that the town and especially the businesses need a lively, active chamber of trade, which can liaise with Cyngor Gwynedd, Pwllheli Town Council, Visit Wales and other bodies, not just to secure much-needed funding towards staging events, exhibitions, competitions and so on, but to generate publicity for Pwllheli and the entire district.

On a short meander around the town, I noticed that the rail station platform has only two very small benches (not very welcoming).

The bus and coach terminus is too full of overgrown ivy and brambles, while the low-lying area near Bont Solomon is home to tons of plastic bottles, take-away food wrappers and other junk.

Our new chamber will be able to raise such issues with the appropriate authorities. We eagerly await regular updates and progress on membership numbers and so forth.

Yours etc,

Wil Jones, Abererch Road, Pwllheli.
