The community of Llandysul will come together to hold the town’s Christmas Celebration on Saturday, 4 December.

The event, from 2pm to 6pm, will see the main street closed off to traffic for the afternoon, with free parking in the main car park and at Llandysul Paddlers.

The community transport group Dolen Teifi will have a fully accessible electric-powered car based at Llandysul Paddlers to convey people to and from the main street if they need assistance.

The street closure allows the town to welcome visiting food and craft business to have stalls along the streets, with local shops and businesses ready to welcome visitors and residents on the day that coincides with Small Business Saturday.

Throughout the afternoon there will be Christmassy musical performances from the Llandysul Community Gospel Choir, who recently featured on the Wynne Evans show on Radio Wales.

Also, the newly formed King’s Arms choir Côr y Brenin will be making their debut performance.

Organisers said that “despite everything which has happened this year the community has rallied together to help raise funds and support the Llandysul Community Council project to replace the old lights”, with the new display of lights being turned on.

Elsewhere, the Plethu Project will be showing a series of films with local people and organisations in the King’s Arms beer garden around 4pm.

As part of the project, the community was invited to make lanterns and they will be paraded through the town as it gets darker.

Santa will be seeing visitors in his Grotto at the Church Hall.

This year’s event is organised by Llandysul and Pont Tyweli Ymlaen, local businesses, residents, and organisations.
