A WOMAN whose body was found at a property near Machynlleth has been named locally as care worker Tracy Cockrell.
A grandmother, originally from Yorkshire, Ms Cockrell is thought to have moved to the area last year with her partner, who has not been named.
Tributes on Facebook for the 51-year-old include from her son Gaz Johnson of Leeds, who said he was "in bits" at hearing the news.
Kye Dunhill on Facebook said Tracy was "a good mate and we had lots of good times" and her "thoughts are with the family at this sad time."
Friend Linda Heseltine said: "We had so much fun when we were kids. I will never forget you. Thinking of all the family."
Police were called to the property at Gelli in Cwm Ffrydlan, just outside Llanwrin, on Sunday, after reports of the sudden death of a 51-year-old woman. During a search of the grounds, the body of a 45-year-old man was also discovered.
Police are treating the death of the woman as murder and say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
