RESIDENTS in Bronant are “fed up” with the mess left behind following bin collections on the outskirts of the village.

Houses along minor roads outside the village near Aberystwyth have their black bags collected from the country lanes by a smaller vehicle which is then taken to a spot along the main road for the large waste vehicles to pick it up.

When the bins are being taken, residents have said that there is a “large mess left behind” after every collection.

Margaret Brown, who lives at Talwrn Glas, said the problem is continuing despite the council being told of the problems.

“Why does this happen every time?” she told the Cambrian News.

“They make a right mess every time and for the last six to nine months have not been to clear it up. They used to clean it up when told about it, but now we hear nothing back when we complain.

"It’s disgusting and it is now happening every time, and nothing is being done.

“We leave our bags out as instructed, but once they are dumped where they are collected by the big lorry, a mess is always left behind.

“It looks bad for the village and the council don’t care. They don’t care about the environment because the rubbish will be blown around and end up in the river nearby.”
