Madam,
Why is it that councils do not clean up after themselves? They are rightly obliged by law to put up notices about such things as planning applications and road closures but they never take them down.
I found two examples, each four months out of date, just the other day by Corris Craft Centre. One on a grass verge, the other being blown about in the road. Being plastic covered they would presumably have continued polluting the countryside for a very long time if I hadn’t rescued them. This is a common occurrence. Nobody I’ve spoken to has ever known a council to take things away.
Councils enforce anti-litter legislation on the public. Why can’t they act responsibly themselves?
Yours etc
David Hickey
Corris.
