HIGH winds and torrential downpours caused havoc across many parts of Dwyfor and Meirionnydd over the weekend.

Large parts of Porthmadog were left under water, including Porthmadog Football Club which saw the entire pitch flooded.

The inside of the clubhouse is also believed to have suffered water damage.

Storm Desmond brought winds of up to 80mph in places such as Aberdaron, Abersoch and Pwllheli which saw fallen trees and roads closed off for the weekend in areas such as Beddgelert.

RNLI Flood Rescue Team volunteers from Criccieth, Pwllheli and Abersoch have also joined emergency services from across the country to help people caught in floods in Cumbria.

The RNLI volunteers include Bryn Ellis from Pwllheli, Elissa Thursfield from Abersoch and Paul Filby from Criccieth.
