In late 2018 Advancing Aberystwyth, the company that ran the Business Improvement District installed new interactive digital signs in at least three locations around town.

The signs enabled visitors to access a range of information including places to visit, where to park and train times.

The digital signs were part of a Digital Tourism project funded by the Welsh Government’s Tourism Amenity Investment Support Scheme.

I note that the touchscreen is no longer present in Terrace Road.

The display in Owain Glynd?r Square is not functioning and the device outside the railway station displays Covid-19 information in a non-interactive mode.

Now that the BID has been thrown out in the five-year renewal ballot will we soon see the end of this unnecessary street clutter?

I hope the proposed zip wire and the loss-making,environmentally-unfriendly winter skating rink meet the same fate.
