Madam,

We in Harlech have many wonderful walks around us, but one in particular fills me with tears.

The beautiful woodland by the dam in Harlech was devastated by the winds in early spring.

Lots of the very old trees have fallen and so has the beauty of this once enchanting woodland. How very sad that it has been left to decay. The birds, too, have lost their nesting places. Surely it’s worth a clean-up?

There are many, if asked, who would help with this.

To leave this gorgeous woodland and not do anything is a crime to future generations.

I have always been so taken with this woodland. At this time of the year, too, the abundance of bluebells just adds to the beauty of the spot.

It must be brought back to its former self. Let’s see some action. This woodland must not be left to rot. We owe it to Mother Nature.

It’s in its glory here, or should I say was.

Yours etc,

Jean Miles, Harlech.
