VISITORS are set to flock to Meirionnydd later this year to witness the International Sheep Dog Trials in Tywyn.

To advertise the event, organisers are working hand in with the Llwyngwril yarn-bombers - who festooned the village with woollen creations last summer - to draw attention to the agricultural festival.

Pat Griffiths, one of the yarn-bombers, was delighted with the initiative.

“Last week a few of us got together to show off our new creations which have been in the works since the end of last year,” she said.

“We’re delighted to announce our yarn-bombing theme this year will the International Sheep Dog Trials+ Country Festival.

“For the moment we’re just releasing a few tasters but we’ll be doing more and more throughout the summer leading up to the main event.

“It’s fantastic news for the region and we’re proud to be a part of such an esteemed event.”

The Sheep Dog Trails will be held in Tywyn at Sandilands Farm 9-11 September.

The canine competition features sixty dogs battling it out to find out who will be crowned Supreme Champion for 2016.
