Madam,

I have just read your article on the possible closure of Tywyn Youth Club.

I was raised in Tywyn (Happy Valley) and Aberdyfi, many years ago, and cannot think what it must be like to not have access to a club of some sort. Mine was mainly Scouting, in Aberdyfi,

Today I live in an entirely different world, a large American city, and at the age of 88 I have seen so many changes in society, but the one thing that stands out is the importance of youth being able to meet and discuss, among themselves, or with adult leaders, problems that to them are huge but to us as adults seem normal. My present church has a youth group that is hard to keep up with and in many ways is self-supporting.

I would encourage the powers-that-be, who control the money, to take a really hard look at this problem. The youth of today who will be affected by a closure are the adults of tomorrow who the Welsh nation will be looking to, to run the affairs of the people.

Yours etc,

Paul C Warner, Tallahassee, Florida.
