FOR the fourth time in just six years, Criccieth Bowls Team won the Anglesey Crown Green Bowls League title with a record points total of 153 points, beating their main rivals Bethesda by 4 points.
Led by Captain Jim Beetham and helped by the Erling Haaland of the team, Dave Jones, both the team and Dave won 18 out of 20 matches and most impressively achieved a shot difference of over 1,000.
Put into context, the maximum possible number of shots in a season is 3,360 and Criccieth scored 3,024 or 90%!
Criccieth Bowls Club is trying hard to attract new members and has recruited many this year.
With the added attractions of a testing 9-hole mini-golf course and the tranquility of beautiful allotments on Cae Crwn—featuring a bronze statue of the global peace envoy Sri Chinmoy—the whole area is an oasis of calm.
