Aberystwyth footballer Rhys Norrington-Davies says Wales were much the better side during their 3-1 victory against Finland which secured promotion to Group A of the Nations League.
Former Ysgol Penglais pupil Norrington Davies, 21, caught the eye with a number of storming runs down the left and dangerous deliveries into the penalty area as a wing back before returning to a traditional left back role with the introduction of target man Kieffer Moore in the second half.
The Sheffield United defender, who is on a season’s loan at Luton Town, said: “It’s a great performance. The boys have been awesome throughout the campaign.
“We knew that a win last night would result in us topping the group and promotion.
“We had a game plan going into the match which I though we implemented well.
“We were the dominant side for the majority of the game.
“Obviously when they had a player sent off the dynamics of the game change.
“They had some spells when they were bright but I think we were much the better side on the night.”
He added: “We took our chances well and managed the game too.
“It’s just a shame that the fans weren’t there to celebrate with us but I know everyone was cheering on from home. Diolch yn fawr.”
