MACHYNLLETH Reserves picked up a valuable three points with a 3-1 home win over Borth United in the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth League on Saturday.

With several players away travelling with the first team, Machynlleth produced an impressive all-round display to take control of the contest. Teenager Leo Nicholas opened the scoring before substitute Dion Kohler added a second to give the hosts a comfortable 2-0 lead at the interval.

Borth's task became even more difficult before the break when Mike Price was shown a red card.

Nicholas put the result beyond doubt on 66 minutes, coolly converting a penalty to claim his second goal of the afternoon.

To their credit, Borth never stopped battling and were rewarded with a late consolation goal from Daniel Warrender.

Tywyn Bryncrug Reserves bounced back strongly from last week's 5-0 defeat to Dolgellau Reserves by recording a convincing 3-0 victory over Padarn United.

Adam Ebery gave the hosts a half-time lead after good work by Logan Lewis. Tywyn continued to press after the interval and Lewis crowned an impressive performance by scoring twice himself.

Barmouth & Dyffryn United Development made it back-to-back victories with an emphatic 5-1 success at Bont.

Leo Green led the way with a clinical hat-trick, while Louie Catherall and George Sutherens also got on the scoresheet as the visitors turned in another impressive attacking display.
