BOW Street manager Phil Evans saw his side slip to a 2-0 defeat to Aberaeron in his last game in charge at Cae Piod on Wednesday, as the visitors moved closer towards towards a mid-table finish in the Spar Mid Wales League division one.
Evans, who had steered his side to two Spar Mid Wales League Cup Finals, stepped down after three years at the helm, and will be replaced by Barry Williams, from Bow Street Reserves.
Goals from Simon Bray and Gareth Severs earned Aberaeron the three points in midweek, to move within a point of the Magpies, who finished in ninth position.
Elsewhere Carno, who had beaten Penrhyncoch two days earlier, hit back for a point in a 1-1 draw with Llanrhaeadr, who had led through a goal from Ben White.
Playing their third game in four days, keeper Chris Brown had to make some good saves, before White ran in to tap home the opening goal from close range.
Carno were back on level terms just five minutes later, however, as Peter Rees smashed the ball home off the under side of the crossbar from a full 25 yards out.
Rees had a chance to take the lead as he went through, before shooting wide. and the sides went in at the intervalall square.
Chances were few and far between in the second half with defences on top, and Jordan Jones flashed a header wide off a corner and Ashley Owen saw his effort fly over and the game petered out to a draw.
Hay St Marys, in fourth place, prevailed 1-0 winners in a hard fought clash at home to Llandrindod, with Brendan Hackett’s deflected cross proving the difference.
In division two, Radnor Valley blew away Penybont 5-1, to lift themselves above Aberystwyth University into second place, behind champions Berriew.
Goals from Elliot Morris, Joey Price, Lewis Morris, Callum Matthews and Oliver Jones put them on the verge of promotion, with Tom Barr hitting a consolation.
On Monday, Radnor Valley had closed in on second place asa Joey Price free-kick sealed a 1-0 win at promotion rivals Kerry.
Kerry, however, maintained their challenge as they notched up a 3-0 win away at Dyffryn Banw, with by goals by Mark Hughes, Luke Mumford an own goal.
Abermule won 3-2 at Newbridge, with Jake Brown trading the keeper’s gloves for two goals. Tom Andrew also netted, whilst Adam Chessell Ryan Lawrence replied.
