MACHYNLLETH made it two wins from two in the MMP Central Wales North League as they continued their impressive start to the season.

After edging past Abermule 1-0 on the opening day, Machynlleth followed up with a 2-0 home victory over Welshpool Town at Cae Glas on Saturday.

A disciplined and hard-working display laid the foundations for success, with Riley Roberts breaking the deadlock on the stroke of half-time. Callum Page then marked his return to the club in style, finding the net on 70 minutes to secure all three points.

Barmouth & Dyffryn United and Tywyn Bryncrug also began their league campaigns with victories.

At Wern Mynach, Joey Thomas's second-half free-kick proved decisive as Barmouth & Dyffryn edged out Caersws Development 1-0.

Tywyn Bryncrug enjoyed a more comfortable afternoon at Kerry Reserves, running out convincing 5-1 winners at Dolforgan Park.

David Jenkins struck twice to give the visitors a commanding two-goal lead at the interval. Oliver Thomas reduced the deficit early in the second half, but Tywyn responded emphatically as substitutes Jamie Pymm bagged a brace and Ben Holt added a fifth.

Forden United also maintained their perfect start to the season, making it two wins from two with a narrow 1-0 success over Waterloo Rovers thanks to a goal from Harvey Brooks.

Other results: Berriew 2 Montgomery Town 1; Llansantffraid Village 0 Llanfyllin Town 0.
