Aberystwyth Town manager was croaky-voiced this morning after shouting instructions to his players and kicking every ball as they pulled off a dramatic win against league leaders The New Saints at Park Avenue.

Jon Owen’s 86th minute winner last night gave the Seasiders a hugely impressive victory and a deserved three points according to Antonio Corbisiero.

The Black and Greens have produced a series of impressive displays this season in the JD Cymru Premier without getting their just reward but last night’s victory, coming on the back of a hard–fought point at Barry Town at the weekend, puts them in a better position going into the international break.

Corbisiero said: “The boys were incredible last night, a massive shift from them again which is obviously the minimum we ask of them.

“I think we deserved the win to be fair.

“It was a disciplined performance. We worked on our shape and we tried to limit their chances.

“Once they get as few chances they build momentum and they’re very dangerous.

“The shape and everything was spot on from the boys, they worked well, they stuck to it and tracked runners and didn’t let any gaps in behind them.

“Jon Owen up top was holding the ball up and allowing us to get up with him. It just kills the game when you’re under the cosh.”

He added: “Performances have been really good from us. We’ve been playing really well but haven’t been clinical in front of goal.

“Luckily last night we were clinical. There were limited chances for both teams but Jon Owen took his opportunity.”
