Liam Jaques reduced the deficit for the visitors after the interval, before two late goals from Davies, to complete a well-taken treble, snatched a dramatic win for the Ceredigion side on their travels.
Mikey Gornall was involved in everything for the visiting side, both defensively and in attack, and it was from his magnificent curling 40 yard pass that Matty Davies latched onto the ball to round the keeper to score the opening goal.
Aberaeron, however, eased off the pace and started to lose key battles as Tywyn forced young keeper Ollie Farebrother into a couple of saves.
With Aberaeron now at sixes and sevens, Tywyn took charge and went 3-1 up with goals from Joseph Bell, with a brace, and Mark Edmondson.
Aberaeron, however, started the second half with more determination and Liam Jaques, with his typical trickery, fired home to halve their deficit.
Under real pressure, the hosts had to battle to maintain their lead, but it was beginning to look like they would hold out - until three minutes to go.
A late corner was brilliantly headed across goal by Elwyn Edwards and that man Davies nodded home for 3-3.
Urged on from the dug out, Aberaeron pushed for a winner and they got their reward when Davies scored the winner with the last kick of the game.
Their win lifted Aberaeron up to fifth place, with Carno’s match at Llandrindod Wells being postponed.
Llanfair United were meanwhile beaten 2-0 by league leaders Welshpool Town at Maesydre on Friday.
Will Thomas opened the scoring for the hosts two minutes before the interval, when he pounced on a defensive error to run through and score.
In tricky playing conditions, Llanfair came close a few times in the second half, but it was Thomas who secured the points when he netted after a great cross from Adam Davies, to keep Welshpool four points clear at the top.
Second-placed Llanrhaeadr, however, continue to breathe down the necks of the league leaders, with five games in hand, after a 3-1 win at Kerry.
Second half goals from Daniel Graham, with a brace, and Khyam Wyton secured the points, but it was a spirited effort from the hosts, who only had 11 players available, including three players from their reserves’ team.
Ben Davies made the step up and he opened the scoring for the Lambs, who were still 1-0 up on the hour.
Bow Street were beaten 3-2 on their travels as Knighton Town leapfrogged above them into ninth position, having gone 2-0 up through goals from Connor Bird and Declan Beddoes.
Goals in each half by Garmon Nutton and Tom Williams reduced the deficit, but Beddoes added his second goal and Knighton held on for the win, despite Danny Ives being sent off on 55 minutes for a second booking.
Third-placed Llanidloes were again frustrated as a waterlogged pitch put paid to their trip to face Machynlleth.
Borth United’s match against Berriew was also postponed, as was Churchstoke against Radnor Valley.
Spar Mid Wales League Division Two
ABERYSTWYTH University consolidated third spot in the Spar Mid Wales League division two after hitting the high road with a 4-2 victory at Brecon Northcote.
Despite being pegged back twice, the students prevailed thanks to a brace from Hugo Laing, with Liam Powell and James Watts also on target. The hosts had twice levelled the scores with goals in each half from Guy Williams and Craig Evans.
Meanwhile Abermule have hit some excellent form since Dave Anthony took the helm from Clive McNamee, and he celebrated being named Spar Division Two’s Manager-of-the-Month by seeing his side emphatically beat Talgarth 11-1 at home.
Charlie Humphreys, Will Denham, David Anthony and Ricky Davies all scored twice, along with goals from Rob Bayliss, Nick Mumby and Tommy Jones, with Harry Sharman netting the reply.
Dyffryn Banw beat Newbridge-on-Wye 2-1, with Alfie Stonefield replying, whilst Hay St Marys versus Montgomery, Llansantffraid against Builth Wells, and Penybont and Dolgellau were postponed..
