Lampeter run riot as goals flow in Emrys Morgan Cup

THERE were goals aplenty in the Emrys Morgan Cup on Saturday, with Lampeter Town recording the biggest win of the day as they thrashed Crannog 12-1.

Gethin Williams-Evans led the way with four goals, while Owen Rowliffe and Rhodri Morgan both completed hat-tricks. Daniel Evans and Riley Lovell were also on target in a dominant display.

Bow Street Reserves survived a tough test at Penparcau before edging through 2-1. James Davies gave the Magpies the lead, but Harley Lawton levelled for the hosts early in the second half. Penparcau's hopes suffered a blow when Rhydian Lewis was sent off for a second booking and Street capitalised as Jamie Whitney fired home the winner on 66 minutes.

Harvey Matthews netted a hat-trick as Llanilar secured a convincing 4-1 victory at Bont.

Keane Moore also helped himself to a treble as Ffostrasol cruised to a 6-0 win over Felinfach.

St Dogmaels continued their fine form with a 3-0 win at Crickhowell. Rhys Jones opened the scoring before Louis Harding struck twice to seal a comfortable victory.

Llanboidy were equally clinical in a 5-0 success over Cardigan Town. Dafydd Jones, Alexander Passmore, Gethin Scourfield, Ifan Jones and Lee Strudley all found the net.

Machynlleth booked their place in the next round with a 4-0 win over Talybont at Cae Glas. Louis Roberts gave the hosts a narrow half-time lead before they took control after the break. Iestyn Evans scored twice and Johan Auf Den Kamp added another as Machynlleth ran out convincing winners.

One of the most entertaining ties of the day came at Llangedwyn, where Borth United were edged out 4-3. Alun Hughes put the hosts ahead before Tommy Loveridge equalised despite having earlier missed a penalty. Byron Edwards restored Llangedwyn's lead from the spot, only for Loveridge to level again before the break. Wayne Parkinson gave Borth the advantage on the hour mark, but late goals from Edwards and Luke Grainger completed the comeback.

Crymych eased through with a 7-0 victory over Dewi Stars. Rhodri George and Sion Vaughan both scored twice, while Dewi Baum, Gethin Evans and Tomos Jones were also on target.

Tregaron Turfs were another side in ruthless form, hammering Maesglas 9-0. Rhun Garner led the charge with a hat-trick, supported by Aled Morgan, Melfyn Davies, Lee Morgan, Justin Davies, Ellis Hockenhull and Sam Jones.

Aberystwyth Town Development progressed on penalties after a 2-2 draw with Bargod Rangers, with Keiron Reynolds and Morgan Lockton scoring in normal time.

Llechryd also advanced via a shoot-out after drawing 1-1 with Newcastle Emlyn. Osian Thomas gave Emlyn the lead before Rhydian Davies struck late to force penalties.

Drew Reynolds and Joshua Jones were on target as Llanidloes beat Llandrindod Wells 2-0, while Llanon edged Padarn United 4-3.
