Davies slipped in behind the Lampeter defence late on to tuck the ball under keeper Jason Davies to secure the win.
After slipping to an agonising defeat to Llanfair United Reserves in the Emrys Morgan Cup Final it was sweet success for Swallows coach Chris ‘Coco’ Davies.
“The team did well to come back from a goal down and turn things around, and we proved a few people wrong,” he said. “It was a superb performance especially in the second half, and a fantastic effort.
“I don’t really want to single out individuals, but I thought Ian Barrett and Terry Maynard were outstanding for us.Being the Bay Cup winners might not mean much to some people, but it means everything to me, and we are delighted.”
Lampeter, who narrowly missed out to Cardigan in their end of season title showdown, had edged the opening half. Gethin Davies hit a splendid free kick that was parried over the bar, and Luke Lovell also went close, but at the other end Simon Davies saw his effort was cleared away by Paul Simmonds.
The deadlock was broken midway through the half as Gethin Hunter set up Rob Slawkowski, and he made no mistake from close range to put Lampeter ahead.
Llandysul came storming back and front runner Davies rounded the keeper, but he snatched his shot and the ball flew over. Davies then set up Lewis Jones who managed to tuck the ball into the empty net - but this was ruled out for offside.
Ben Thomas went close with a header before the break whilst Lampeter’s Gethin Davies saw a volley just miss the target.
The Swallows levelled matters just after the restart when Davies got on the end of a superb cross from Terry Maynard to head the ball home past keeper Davies.
Marc Evans saw a header from a superb cross from Jason Jones go inches wide and centre back Dean Jones cleared his line to keep out a good effort by Gethin Davies.
At the other end, Jones went close with a header from an Adrian Hazelby cross.
As the tension started to rise, Lampeter player Simmonds was shown a yellow card, and he was followed into the book by Gethin Davies following a late tackle.
The winner arrived with a few minutes to go when Davies slipped his marker and raced away to effectively seal the deal.
Lampeter made one final surge, but they were kept out by a resilient defensive line, with Dean Jones and Scott Mayes in particular standing tall for Llandysul.
