LLANILAR Reserves made the perfect start to their Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth League campaign with a 6-1 victory at Machynlleth Reserves.

Dyfri Cunningham led the charge, netting a first-half hat-trick.

Llanilar suffered a setback just before the hour mark when substitute Yousef Badawa was sent off, but the dismissal failed to halt their momentum. Despite being reduced to 10 men, they extended their lead through Dylan Rogers, Daniel Dowse and Jamie Dowse. Antony Roberts grabbed a late consolation for the hosts.

Padarn United also opened their season in style with a 3-1 win at Corris. Sergei Shostak, Owen Griffiths and Peter Inglis were on target for the visitors, while Mason Dennett replied for the hosts.

Barmouth & Dyffryn Development's trip to Talybont was postponed due to the dry, hard and potentially dangerous condition of the playing surface.
