NEWCASTLE Emlyn produced another polished performance to beat Aberporth by 5-2, and consolidate their position in the three-horse race that is developing at the top of the Costcutter Ceredigion League division one.

Outstanding for the visitors was two goal star Jake Kelly, who was in the thick of the action all afternoon - and another to impress was wide man Dion Davies, who also got his name onto the scoresheet.

Dorian Davies and defender Steve Hicks also netted, with Mathew Smith and Rhys Glover scoring for the hosts.

Reigning champions St Dogmaels were stung early on in their game against Lampeter Town, when they went behind to a Gethin Hunter goal, but they came back strongly to run out worthy 4-1 winners.

Hunter struck after five minutes as a long ball over the top caught the Saints’ defence flat-footed, and was dispatched past Carl Woodbridge.

The Greens levelled when Louis Harding was on target, before Rhys Jones made it 2-1 to the home side. The leaders stamped their authority, with Harding scoring his second, and Adam Williams completed the scoring in a game well refereed by John Williams.

It was one-way traffic at Llanddewi as Dewi Stars suffered a 7-0 defeat to Crannog, with Sion Mason-Evans bagging four goals, with Steffan Jones, Robbie Evans and Brynley Morris also netting goals.

Llanboidy made their long trip to Felinfach worthwhile as goals from Huw Davies and Keiron Boyes earned a 2-2 draw. For the Cae Dandre team, Elis Williams and Rhys Jenkins were on target.

In division two, Crannog registered their second 3-1 win on the bounce as they triumphed at St Dogmaels Reserves. The Llangrannog men, unbeaten since September, won courtesy of goals from Dan Robinson, Rhydian Roberts and Jack Davies. Daniel Davies scored the reply goal.

Aberaeron Reserves overcame the challenge of Lampeter Reserves 3-0, with goals by Aaron Morgan, with a brace, and Keelan Noble.

In division three, Cardigan Reserves produced another solid effort to beat Llanboidy Reserves by 3-0 at Cae Dandre. Steff Evans put the visitors ahead early on, before Jack Everton doubled the lead with a fantastic strike, and a long range chip from Mallt Maskell, sealed the win. Caleb Young got a consolation goal.

Ethan Jones, Ian Hamilton and Daniel Darby scored as Newcastle Emlyn Reserves beat Felinfach Reserves 3-0.
