PWLLHELI seized the initiative by being the only fixture to survive Saturday’s inclement weather to move up to sixth in the Ardal North West table with a 4-2 win against basement side Hawarden Rangers.

Pwllheli have now won five and lost four of their first nine outings which reflects a solid start at tier three level.

Steffan Toplis gave the Rec hosts the lead on 16 minutes but they were stung by a couple of Callum Parry strikes as the visitors clawed their way back into the match.

Ashley Ainsworth equalised for Arwel Griffiths’ men on the stroke of half time and they made sure of the points with two goals in as many minutes in the closing stages by Marcus Banks and Toplis who took his tally for the campaign to six goals
