TREGARON Turfs have been crowned champions of the Cambrian Tyres Division One league following the decision to curtail the season.
In a statement, league organisers said: "Further to the FAW Board’s decision to curtail all recreational football for this season, the final league’s positions will be decided on a points per game basis.
"Therefore, we congratulate the Champions and Runners-Up of each division namely Tregaron Turfs and Llanilar in Division 1 and Dolgellau Res and Penparcau Res in Division 2.
"Presentations will be made at the League’s next AGM once restrictions allow."
Turfs had a perfect league record before the season was suspended, winning all 10 of the games played.
Arwel Jones, who is a part of the Turfs’s coaching team, said that he was very proud of the club’s success this year.
He said: “It’s great news and to be honest it’s well deserved.
"The boys have worked hard this season and they deserve something for their efforts. Even though we had hoped to win more than just the league this season, we are more than happy to be champions.
"We hope to move to a higher league next season with the hope that the the season will start in September. The players are desperate to be back playing again”.
