TYWYN Bryncrug slipped to their second defeat of the MMP Central Wales League North season after a battling display against Abermule on Saturday.

Having made an encouraging start to the campaign, Tywyn have now managed just one win in their last 10 matches in all competitions, and they were left with a mountain to climb after Abermule struck twice in quick succession during the first half.

The visitors broke the deadlock on 32 minutes when Sam Davies finished after combining well with Billy Davies. Just four minutes later, Abermule doubled their advantage through Dylan Stephens .

Any hopes of a Tywyn comeback suffered a major setback before half-time when James Owen was shown a second yellow card, reducing the hosts to 10 men.

To their credit, Tywyn responded positively after the interval and pulled a goal back through Mark Edmondson early in the second half. Despite their efforts, however, they were unable to find an equaliser.
